TAS Energy Awarded Contract To Supply Turbine Inlet Chilling To Bulo Bulo OCGTPower Plant

HOUSTON, TEXAS (September 12, 2013) – TAS Energy has been awarded a contract to supply a Turbine Inlet Chilling (TIC) package for a new LM6000 gas turbine under current installation at the existing Bulo Bulo OCGT Power Plant in Bolivia, South America announced J.T. Grumski, President & CEO of TAS Energy. The contract was awarded by Compania Electrica Central Bulo Bulo S.A. and is expected to be operational in third quarter of 2013.
TAS Energy will supply a D-22 chiller package, rated at 2,020 tons that will improve performance of the new GE LM6000 gas turbine at existing ambient conditions by as much as 11MW (net) when the turbine air inlet temperature is chilled down to 48°F/8.9°C.
“Having provided over 100,000 tons of refrigeration to the region to date, there continues to be enormous potential in Latin America for TAS Energy’s TIC solutions due to the continuous growth in power demand and the drive to improve output of existing assets,” said Grumski. “Our TIC solutions allow customers in the region to quickly and reliably recover those hidden MW’s while increasing their operational capabilities.”
TAS Energy will manufacture the equipment at their facility in Houston, TX where it will then be transported and installed at the Bulo Bulo power plant located in Carrasco Province, Cochabamba, Bolivia, South America.
