Solar Thermal

Concentrated solar projects are not abundant in the U.S. largely due to financing and water supply difficulties.  TAS Energy is reinvigorating an old market with its advanced design solar-to-power (S2P) organic rankine cycle unit.

TAS ME, LLC Increases Regional Presence With Office Move And Expansion

Press Release  |  Sep 25, 2006

Dubai, UAE (September 25, 2006) - Building on core strengths of engineering and manufacturing among the world’s most efficient packaged central plants – supporting the district, commercial comfort and industrial process cooling markets – TAS ME, LLC announces their expanded presence in the Middle East with its move to new, larger and more centrally located office facilities in Dubai, UAE.

The increased investment in local facilities follows strong growth in the UAE market in which TAS has experienced market success with commercial comfort and district cooling projects ranging from 1,800 to 120,000 tons. TAS’ most noted projects in the UAE include the 60,000 ton Jumeirah Beach residential and commercial complex and Palm District Cooling’s 120,000 ton The Crescent of the Palm, Jumeirah project. Jumeirah Beach has the distinction of being the region’s first packaged central plant project.

“TAS’ move to larger facilities on the Sheik Zayed Road is indicative of the strong growth that we’ve experienced to date, and expect to continue to see, with the tremendous amount of planned construction in the regional cooling market. Additionally, the region’s significant construction activity has spurred a secondary, retrofit market of older commercial and industrial facilities, as regional authorities increasingly focus on power conservation,” said Keith Evans, Managing Director of TAS Middle East & Africa.

TAS, which has project installations spanning five continents, also serves the power generation industry with a power augmentation system that restores both simple and combined cycle gas turbines to full megawatt generation capacity. TAS’ technology chills the inlet air entering the gas turbines – thereby creating optimal, ambient temperature, operating conditions.

“Our expanded facilities have come just in time as we expect more and more demand for high energy efficiency packaged central plants. Everyone’s looking to mitigate construction risk and to support power conservation. TAS Packaged Central Plants help our customers achieve both goals,” said Evans.

With an office staff now spanning sales, applications engineering, project management, finance and product service, TAS is fully prepared to serve the region’s expected growth in demand for highly efficient packaged central plants.

TAS is the global leader in manufacturing modular, packaged chilled water plants with over 520,140 tons of chilled water plants awarded or installed in North and South America, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Australia. TAS’ pre-engineered and manufactured chilling systems can satisfy a full range of customer needs with individual packages ranging from 400 to 8,000 tons. Our engineered solutions provide customers with the flexibility to satisfy cooling needs with a compact, efficient and cost effective packaged system, designed for lowest life-cycle cost and highest net present value. TAS is the exclusive packager of Trane centrifugal & absorption chillers for power augmentation, combined heat and power, industrial process, commercial comfort and district cooling applications. With its ISO 9001:2000 certification, TAS is committed to continual improvement of both manufacturing quality and product performance throughout all of its business segments.
