TAS had the pleasure of attending the AFCOM DFW event covering “Women in Data Centers”. The event was hosted by Stream Data Centers in their new 15MW (scalable to 30MW) Garland, Texas site! Thank you to the amazing panel of women who took the time to share their stories and suggest how we can increase the number of women in the industry! When asked how do we increase the presence of women in the industry, the panel had the perfect response… the industry needs to raise more awareness about what data centers are, the positions available within the industry and that influence has to start at a young age! Despite the growth the #datacenter industry has seen in recent years, most young adults are still being directed towards careers not related to data centers. 7×24 Exchange International has started working on data center education! International Data Center Day is on the 25th of March and is focused on educating children and young adults on everything data centers. Groups like WiMCO and Women’s Tech Forum are great places to get involved as well! Thank you Stream Data Centers and AFCOM DFW for hosting this amazing event! Hope to see you in March at the Data Center World Conference! #datacenterworld#womenindatacenters
TAS’s Jack W. Kolar led a discussion on innovations in data center cooling and power distribution. There is huge momentum going to liquid-cooled data centers including #immersion.
